Our Capabilities

Design & Analysis

Our engineering team specializes in developing high-performance aerospace structures, combining innovative design with manufacturing expertise. From concurrent engineering support to structural analysis and custom tooling, we collaborate with customers to optimize designs for efficiency, precision, and cost-effectiveness.

We offer concurrent engineering services, working with customers to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-effective production.

Our design and analysis engineers specialize in solving complex structural challenges, particularly for precision aerospace components such as antenna reflectors and optic benches.

With a skilled engineering team, we design custom tooling and support equipment for the manufacturing and testing of metal bond and composite structural assemblies.

Fabrication & Assembly

Our fabrication and assembly services encompass the full spectrum of aerospace manufacturing. From Nadcap-certified metal bond preparation to precision machining and composite fabrication, we handle every aspect in-house. With advanced curing systems, component detailing, and specialized painting capabilities, we ensure high-quality results for complex assemblies, all supported by a dedicated clean and prime center for optimal bonding conditions.

Certified for composite fabrication, we offer dedicated rooms equipped with laser projection systems, ply cutters, and freezers, some of which are designated for fiberglass and astroquartz to maintain a conductive-free environment.

With five autoclaves and eight ovens, we handle large parts, with maximum dimensions of 16′ diameter by 30′ long, for curing.

On-site Nadcap-certified chemical processing and large processing tanks prepare metallic parts for bonding. Ensuring thorough cleaning and priming of parts before bonding.

Our extensive in-house machine shop, including CNC lathes, mills, waterjet cutters, and large 5-axis CNC routers, eliminates the need for outsourcing bonded assemblies.

A skilled team of technicians provides detailed work on bonded assemblies, including installing inserts, rivets, fittings, and ground straps.

Equipped with multiple paint booths, we apply primers, paints, and specialized coatings, including tight tolerance applications using a paint robot.

Inspection & Testing

We offer comprehensive inspection and testing services, including in-house ASTM testing, advanced 3D metrology, and thermal cycle and distortion testing. Our Nadcap-certified NDT services ensure component integrity, while structural load testing capabilities support high-demand aerospace applications.

Material qualification and acceptance in our composite and metal ASTM testing lab.

Our Nadcap M&I Certified metrology services include a range of 3D systems such as Laser Trackers, Photogrammetry, Faro and Romer Arms, and CMM’s.

Using photogrammetry, we evaluate structural distortion at extreme temperatures, ensuring precision for communication antennas with strict surface tolerances.

With Nadcap NDT certification and level-3 certified inspectors, we perform dye-penetrant inspection and Through Transmission Ultrasound (TTU), including both C-scan and A-scan.

Multiple thermal cycle chambers simulate environmental conditions for hardware qualification and acceptance testing.

A large reaction frame supports structural load testing, capable of up to 500 data channels, 40 load channels, and 1 million pounds of vertical load within a 15’x15’x18′ envelope.

Fabrication & Assembly

AASC employs experienced engineers, analysts, and designers to support “build-to-specification” requirements.  We are also uniquely qualified with a large staff of manufacturing engineers that provide key producibility feedback on our own designs and can provide the same feedback as part of “concurrent engineering” efforts with our customers.

AASC has sheet metal processing equipment onsite (shears and presses) and is well versed in handling, shearing, stamping and otherwise processing large thin (typically aluminum) sheet metal.

AASC is Nadcap certified for composites fabrication. We have large layup rooms with dedicated laser projection systems, ply cutters and freezers. Some of the rooms are designated for fiberglass only to maintain a conductive free environment for specific structures (typically radomes).
